Congratulations and thank you to all involved in the outstanding success of the first Rounds4Research online golf auction.

Together, we raised over $55,000 in new funding for turfgrass research.

While proceeds benefit the work of turfgrass researchers at Clemson and North Carolina State universities, there are many other entities that will reap the rewards.

Golf course superintendents, club owners and operators and golfers will be better off as research continues to ensure and enhance the quality of our playing conditions.

So will the many thousands of others who earn a living in Carolinas golf, whether in the pro shop, the clubhouse or retail outlets away from the course.

Then there are the countless non-golf businesses across the two states which benefit from money golfers spend getting to and from their game.

Golf tourism puts the Carolinas on the map nationally and that profile and the revenue it brings through direct and indirect expenditures from out-of-state visitors is critical to the economic health of the region.

The Carolinas receive an annual economic benefit of $5-billion from our game.

Year one of Rounds4Research has been major success by any measure.

None of that would have been possible without the generosity of our donor courses and our throng of golf-loving bidders.
